Overdue
Hello all,
I know it has been a while since I have sent an update. I have all kinds of excuses, but instead of giving the to you all, I will just tell you how I have been keeping myself busy.
First week of July:
My Birthday! The weather was perfect. The sun was shining and I was happy running around with a long sleeve shirt on. I walked around the Harbour and found some beautiful places to sit and read and people watch. I also had a wonderful birthday dinner. I went to this restaurant that I had been eying since I moved to Newtown. The name of the place is Le Kilimanjaro and it is a small African Eatery. Yum. During this time was the big ceremony for the Girl Guides. The girls pulled it off perfectly. They really are a fun group of girls. I think we are going to have a good year.
Second Week of July:
This week was a complete bust. I had the flu. I spent 4 days where I did not even leave my living room. Then I had one day at work to clean up everything from work since I was going on vacation the next week.
Third Week of July:
Went Skiing! I went to Perisher Blue. It was beautiful. The snow was snow. People keep asking me if the snow was good. And I have never been skiing before so I believe that I am an amatuer at answering this questison. Here are my thoughts: for the first 3 days the snow was good and the last two I kept hitting dirt patches. So I would say that was bad the last couple of days. I stacked it quite a lot, but I had never skied before so that was to be expected. I think it is safe to say that I can ski.
Fourth Week of July and First Week of August:
I came home from the slopes and was told that one of my flatmates is moving out. He has had some events occur in his life that has lead him to the decision to move out of Australia. I am sad to see him go, and frustrated that I am now on, yet another, flatmate search. So for the past couple of weeks I have been catching up with people that I had not talked to in a couple of weeks due to illness and holiday. As well as interviewing people for the empty room. It is a bit discouraging.
So that brings us to today. I have rediscovered the Radio Show "Acoustic Café" I love that I can listen to it on the web. Tonight I will be starting training to be a DJ for "Scooter Radio" which is a weekly radio show that is focused on independent female musicians. I am completely excited about this.
Now for the update vocabulary session (would you read these updates if I did not have this at the end?):
